About Our Doctor

Chan Yoon Kim OD, MS

Dr. Kim was born in South Korea and raised in Georgia. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and completed a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Kim then received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.

Following graduation, Dr. Kim completed a residency in ocular disease at Clayton Eye Center, a surgical center specializing in cataract, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. His clinical interests include diagnosing and managing eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration.

Dr. Kim especially enjoys helping patients achieve clear vision and often says his favorite moment is hearing patients say, “I can see now!” after receiving the right glasses or contact lenses. He also enjoys caring for children and helping them maintain healthy vision from an early age.

Dr. Kim has also participated in multiple international mission trips to Kenya and Mexico, providing eye care services to underserved communities.

Dr. Kim lives in the area with his wife, Lauren, and their daughter, Violet. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, serving at Good Samaritan Presbyterian Church, and exploring new restaurants in the community.

Dr. Chan Yoon Kim is an independent Doctor of Optometry.
